The Dangers of Prompt Injection: Safeguarding AI Integrity

Aug 22, 2024 10K views 0:35 Transcript available

About this video

In ChatGPT and other large language models, you can choose not to allow your sessions to be used to improve the models learning. Its a wise choice. Imagine someone with malicious intent, deliberately injecting false information into the models training data. This practice is known as prompt injection. If someone repeatedly feeds the model incorrect data, over time, that false information could start to seem like reality to the machine. Its important to remember that, at its core, a large language model is just thata machine. It doesnt know right from wrong; it only knows what its been fed. Thats why prompt injection poses a significant danger. We need to be mindful of how we interact with these technologies and vigilant about the potential for misuse. As powerful as AI can be, its up to us to ensure it remains a tool for good, not a vehicle for spreading falsehoods.
