The co-founder of OpenAI recently left to start a new venture. Hes already raised $1 billion, but what worries me is the promise hes making to his investors. Hes promising to develop a super AI that will surpass human intelligence. The problem isnt whether we have enough money to fund such a projectthe real issue is that we dont yet know how to truly mimic human capacities. AI has made incredible advancements, but theres still a vast gap between replicating human intuition, emotion, and creativity. Overselling AIs potential without understanding its limitations can lead to unintended consequences. Instead of chasing the goal of surpassing human intelligence, we should focus on responsibly developing AI that enhances and complements our abilities.
