Protect Your Ideas-Risks of Sharing on Public Platforms
About this video
Platforms like Reddit are great for sharing ideas, but its important to understand that once you publish something there, youre not considered the author in the traditional sense, and you dont hold copyright over those ideas. In fact, its the oppositeyoure essentially throwing your ideas into the ocean. When companies like OpenAI or Google train their AI on data from these platforms, the ideas youve shared can be absorbed into their models. When you ask the AI for a creative idea, it might generate something that feels new and innovative, but the AI wont tell you that this idea was originally conceived by someone on Reddit. To protect your ideas, its crucial to keep them to yourself until youve secured copyright or patent protection. If you believe your idea is either already known or not worth protecting, then sharing it on Reddit is fine. But remember, the internet is not your personal safe. Be careful with what you share, because once its out there, its out of your control.
